If You Ask John: Our story begins in 2022 with the modern way of finding the love of your life…Tinder. Swipe left, swipe left, swipe left, SWIPE RIGHT.&nbsp;He was cute, had a great smile, beautiful blue eyes and was in the audience of The View. I was sold! At first, I was not sure if he was even interested since after weeks and weeks of messaging, no plans had been made to see each other in person.&nbsp;But then alas, a date had been made on August 19th at Angelos. The day of the date he had called me not too long before we were supposed to meet and hearing his voice for the first time gave me butterflies and smile like no other. On that date he had me get out of my comfort zone and try oysters…yes, oysters…on the first date! Part of me was excited that here I met someone that already has me trying something new and yet the other part of me was not wanting to put that thing near my mouth whatsoever. That date lasted for hours. Hours of talking, laughing, getting to know each other better and not wanting to turn away from his beautiful blue eyes. We ended the night sitting in his car with the radio on (Beyonce was playing to be exact), not wanting the night to end and something I had been waiting for since the first time I saw him that night…a kiss. The kiss that made me go weak in the knees and know that it was a kiss I wanted to have forever. Since this first date, my love for him grows more and more each day. We have experienced trying times with some heartache, lessons learned and loved ones moving on to the next world but have also experienced times of excitement, new adventures and the planning of our future together. Who would have thought that with a simple swipe right, I would have met the man that even though has taken over our home with more house plants than a person should have, the man that I want to explore the world with, build a life with and most importantly, grow old with.&nbsp;

We understand how difficult it can be navigating places, when if you've not visited them before. We have created a room-block at the Warwick (one- ish block from the reception venue) and have arranged for transportation between the Warwick and Grant-Humphreys Mansion as well as Grant-Humphreys Mansion to Ms. Marji's Garden. If you're staying elsewhere, there will be a separate service to take guests from Ms. Marji's to Grant Humphreys as well - Pick-up time is still. TBD *no children

DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 

DIA is the closest international airport to Downtown. It is roughly a 45 minute drive (and rush-hour is murder). If city driving isn't your thing we do have a Light Rail (John and I use it every time we travel) that will get you to the city in about 45 minutes. Once you're Downtown - you can: Uber, Lyft, Bus or Scooter everywhere.

Travel

There's so much to see and do from: sports, theme parks and the mountains to shopping museums, the gardens/zoo and food/drink. It's your vacation time; enjoy it! We'll try and list a few things we like to do BUT please remember you're at altitude. Sun block, lots of water (booze will also hit you a little harder up here) and allow your body time to adjust. DENVER

Probably most famous for our ties to the Gold Rush (and now Ghost Towns) as well as our multiple Sports Ball Teams. Probably less know about our ties to Molly Brown (Kathy Bates in the Titanic) had her Primary home (now a museum) located a few blocks from the Capital Building and Summer home a few miles away are here. She helped fund the Brown Palace (high tea and is shaped like a ship). the 16th Street Mall, is not a place we would recommend. That being said streets off the "Mall" have some great restaurants. Additionally the city itself is really walkable and we have a lot of parks. City Park and Washington Park (both offer peddle boat rentals), Cheeseman Park (once upon a time was an old cemetery) and Civic Center Park (often they have food truck rallies and other events, great view of the Capital Building and other "Civic" ones) - some of these might still be hosting weekend morning Farmers Markets

SHOPPING 

Cherry Creek is where the mall is located (it's not tax free) but does offer high end designers and good people watching. Across from the mall is 2nd Avenue here you will find LOTS of dining and free standing stores.

FOOD & BEER

Let's start with beer... IF you can throw a stone chances are you will hit a brewery! Some of our favorites: Station 26 (Central Park: an old converted Fire House) with a beer that tastes like a Dreamsicle), Little Machine (by the Broncos stadium) they have great food trucks and killer IPAs, Denver Beer Co (has food, allows dogs and a wide variety of options. Fiction not only has great IPA's but awesome Sours as well. Lowry Beer Garden &amp; Food Hall: great people watching but the mosquitos...

Most Famous for Stephen Kings "The Shining" and Elk. Less famous for the "white knuckle" drives with specular views of Rocky Mountain National Park. Cute little downtown area with tourist shops.

Things to Do

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

Denver will be in the "last" part of our Summer but not quite fall. The average temperature in September 83° during the day and 50° at night. The City limits are 5280' which is nearly the elevation of Mount Washington (6288') there is minimal humidity so please remember sunblock and to stay hydrated. WILL THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION BE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?

Weather permitting, the Ceremony will be held on the front lawn of the Grant-Humphreys Mansion. Worst case scenario it will moved inside. The Reception is planned to be outside, in the middle of a large garden, full of fountains and fire features.

WHAT IS COCKTAIL ATTIRE?

Ceremony &amp; Reception: Cocktail (Black Tie Optional)Ladies: Cocktail dresses Gentlemen: Suit and tie Please keep in mind Denver will probably feel hot during the day but as the sun goes down temperature often drops and there is no humidity.

Whose the Bride and whose the Groom?

As tradition would have it, when two men get married there will not be a Bride. That being said one of us has assumed the role of Groomzilla 😂

We both identify Spiritually as Agnostic, as such the Ceremony and the Reception will not be Religious, and we ask that you honor our wishes in this.

We LOVE the idea of a "Cocktail" party!To US "Cocktail" embodies endless sexuality and exudes sex appeal.Remembering those days in your 20's, when you use to drink to much dancing around "the" place while getting ready for a night on the town with your closest friends. We "all" shared a similar goal... "you weren't going home alone" - or at a minimum you wanted the looks and the googly eyes, you wanted... no; you NEEDED to feel seen!We hope you come feeling sexy, beautiful, confident and seen...Just don't wear white!
